During this confinement, day by day I have been looking at the 324’s news website to be informed about the whole current situation. On April 21, I saw the publication of this news item entitled “Trump suspèn la immigració als Estats Units davant l’atur creixent per la pandemia”. This fact reminded me of when we worked on Migrations from a Gender Perspective project. It is curious that the country where a politician who rules more for his citizens than for people who come from abroad, searching for a better life, has created this law. Honestly, it doesn’t surprise me. But what I have thought the most is that in the United States country nowadays, it's the country with the most cases and deaths of COVID-19. So, I think that this restriction is another excuse to be able to ban United States immigration. Globalization allows communication and exchanges between countries. Why don’t we consider that on the surface of things, like food or other products that come from outside, they can carry the virus? Why the first thing we do is close the door on other people and not on food or clothes that come from China, where the pandemic started? This has been my reflection on this news.
